Australian Consulate in Mumbai
If you need to register a birth or obtain a new passport when in the area, call or email the Australian Consulate in Mumbai in India. If you have lost your passport then report this to the local police and they will give you a criminal case number. When you apply for a new passport you will need to give them the case number from the police.
They will tell you when you need to return to collect your travel document or passport. If you have given birth you will also need to have all the original as well as the translated and certified copies of these to register an Australian born abroad.
