If you are in Malaysia then you can seek assistance as an Australian citizen. The Australian High Commission in Malaysia is located in the capital city of Kuala Lumpur and can assist you if you have been involved in an accident or have been arrested. They provide consular services for all Australians who find themselves in Malaysia.
You can speak to the Australian High Commission about applying for an Australian visa such as a fiancee visa or marriage visa or you can also apply for a work visa which will allow you to work in Australia. Note that they can also provide assistance with applying for a new passport if you have lost your passport or you current passport is full or close to its expiration date. They can also assist you with a birth registration or death registration while in the country. Notarial services can also be provided and other consular assistance.
